No NAACP Image Award for Justin Timberlake.

The 42nd annual event for an NAACP Image Award aired on March 4th, and with the results of the contest announced, it seems that Justin Timberlake did not win in his nominated category.

Justin Timberlake’s performance in “The Social Network” won him the nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, a nomination he shared with Samuel L. Jackson (“Mother and Child), Don Cheadle (“Brooklyn’s Finest”), Idris Elba (“Takers”), and Michael Healey (“For Colored Girls”). In the end, Jackson won.

The nomination for an NAACP Image Award was puzzling given the stated purpose of the awards: “to celebrate the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture and writing & directing), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.
