Justin Timberlake *NSYNC album included a number of hit singles such as "Tearin' Up My Heart."For the next 2 years, encouraged by similar developments with the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync engaged in a lengthy legal battle with corrupt manager Lou Pearlman. Eventually the band signed with Jive Records.
